About
Fabio Vicini is an Associate Professor at the University of Verona's Department of Human Sciences. He specializes in the anthropology of religion, migration, and secularism, with a focus on Muslim communities in Turkey, Europe, and Central Asia. He coordinates the PRIN project on Islam in Italy (2023-2025) and participates in a Swiss-funded project on Central Asian Islam. His research explores inclusive societies, citizenship practices, and Islamophobia. Vicini is affiliated with the CREAa research group and serves on multiple university committees, including the QA Management Group and the Ethics Committee.
His teaching includes courses on cultural anthropology and ethnography across bachelor's and master's programs in education and philosophy. Recent publications include monographs on Turkish Islam and co-edited volumes on Muslim ontologies and transcultural dynamics. He actively contributes to editorial boards, such as the HAU: Journal of Ethnographic Theory.
