Fabio Pieri is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Trento. His research focuses on industrial economics, innovation, productivity, and international trade. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Trento (2010) and a BA from the University of Florence (2005). He has participated in multiple national research projects in Italy and Spain, including studies on international investment, innovation, and productivity growth.
His research interests include industrial dynamics, competition-innovation-productivity links, ICTs, R&D impacts, and the internationalization of firms. He has contributed to projects such as the Spanish-funded 'Determinates del comercio y la inversión extranjera directa' (2016-2018) and the Italian PRIN project on service production and economic growth (2008-2010). He is a Fellow at the Centro Studi Luca d'Agliano and a member of several economics societies, including the Società Italiana di Economia (SIE).
Pieri received the FFABR 2017 grant for top Italian researchers. He has presented at conferences like the EBES Conference and SIEPI Workshops, and serves as a referee for journals such as Applied Economics and Economic Modelling. His research spans topics like firm resilience, regulatory impacts, and the transition economies of Vietnam. His work emphasizes empirical analysis of productivity, innovation, and structural economic changes.
