Ewen Glass is a Senior Lecturer in Screenwriting at Manchester Metropolitan University's School of Digital Arts. A professional screenwriter with multiple theatrically distributed feature films and shorts, his television credits include work on Hollyoaks and RTE Storyland (where his drama A Sign of Things was nominated for Edinburgh TV Festival's Debbie Awards). He has participated in BBC Writersroom Belfast Voices and Edinburgh TalentLab schemes, and holds full voting membership at BAFTA and IFTA. Current projects include a psychological thriller feature film for an Irish company and the Canada-UK TV co-production The Dog Walker.
His research focuses on narrative experimentation across poetry and screenwriting, exploring intersections between cinematic storytelling and literary techniques. Recent creative outputs examine temporal perception, environmental symbolism, and communication dynamics through diverse forms including prose poems, anthologized poetry, and conceptual screenplays.
Ewen's work appears in numerous literary platforms including One Art, Porcupine Literary, Anthropocene, Maudlin House, and Cathexis Northwest Press. He engages with contemporary themes through innovative formats, often blending traditional storytelling with avant-garde poetic structures.
