Eve Alexandra is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Vermont (UVM), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Her expertise spans creative writing, poetry, and American literature. She holds an M.F.A. from the University of Pittsburgh (1997).
Dr. Alexandra is a published poet with works appearing in journals such as the Harvard Review and the Academy of American Poets. Her first book, The Drowned Girl, earned the prestigious Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize in 2002 and was a finalist for the Kate Tufts Discovery Award. She has also been recognized as a Featured Emerging Poet by the American Poet Journal.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses like 'Intro to Creative Writing,' 'American Literature,' and 'Advanced Writing: Poetry.' She has held a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Pittsburgh (1995–1997).
