Evanthia K. Schmidt

Evanthia K. Schmidt is an Associate Professor at Aarhus University's Department of Political Science with full professor qualifications, specializing in research and innovation policy, responsible research and innovation (RRI), and diversity governance in academic institutions. Her work integrates European science policy with societal impact through interdisciplinary frameworks.

Her research examines European science and innovation policy with emphasis on RRI, citizen engagement, and Sustainable Development Goals implementation. She investigates knowledge governance transformations in universities, context-sensitive research evaluation methodologies, and gender diversity metrics in knowledge production using comparative cross-national qualitative and mixed-method approaches.

Recent publications analyze gender equality plan implementation in European academia, geopolitical risks in international research collaboration, and generative AI's integration into research workflows. Her work also advances citizen science evaluation frameworks and RRI assessment models for research organizations.
