About
Evan Wilson is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University's College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. He collaborates with the Center for Cooperative Ecological Resilience and the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians to implement adaptive management strategies for wildlife conservation in Michigan's eastern Upper Peninsula.
As a wildlife ecologist, his research examines how anthropogenic activity and climate change affect biotic interactions, population dynamics, and spatial distribution of mammals in northern forest ecosystems. He employs radio-telemetry, camera trapping, ecological modeling, and stable isotope analysis to identify conservation strategies at local and regional scales.
His recent publications focus on climate-sensitive species, community disassembly mechanisms, camouflage mismatch in snowshoe hares, and human-wildlife conflict dynamics. These works span disciplines including conservation biology, climate change ecology, and behavioral ecology.
