Evan Ragland is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Notre Dame and Co-Director of the History and Philosophy of Science Office. He has published in journals like Isis, Bulletin of the History of Medicine, and Ambix, and his first book, Making Physicians: Tradition, Teaching, and Trials at Leiden University, 1575-1639 (Brill, 2022), analyzes medical education practices in Renaissance Europe. His current book project, Experimental Medicine, investigates the evolution of experimentalist approaches in anatomy, chymistry, and clinical practice.
