Evalyn A. Clark was a renowned historian and professor at Vassar College, where she taught from 1939 until her retirement in 1968. She held the Eloise Ellery Chair of History and served as Associate Dean of Faculty and Acting Dean of the College. Her research focused on European intellectual history, nationalism, and contemporary European affairs, with firsthand observations of fascism's rise in Europe during the 1930s.
Clark emphasized civic engagement through world affairs study groups and championed innovative teaching methods, replacing lectures with student debates during WWII.
