Eva Wagner is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the Corporate Finance Department at Johannes Kepler University Linz's Business School. She earned her doctorate in Social and Economic Sciences (2007) and completed her habilitation in Business Administration (2016) at JKU Linz. Her academic career began in 2002 as a research assistant, progressing to Assistant Professor (2012) and Associate Professor (2016). Prior to academia, she worked in banking (Hypo Bank and Oberbank) from 1991-2001.
Her research focuses on:
- Corporate finance dynamics in family businesses and SMEs
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) linkages with financial performance
- Behavioral aspects of mergers and acquisitions
- Gender diversity in corporate governance
- Credit risk and derivatives markets
Recent publications demonstrate strong focus on CSR's impact on M&A performance, religiosity in family firms, and cross-country trust relationships in CSR adoption. Her research frequently employs empirical analysis of European and emerging markets.
