Eva Schinnerer

Dr. Eva Schinnerer is a Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany, where she has served as a Staff Scientist since August 2004. She also holds an adjunct position as an Associated Astronomer at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory since September 2011.

Her research focuses on:

• Star formation through cosmic times
• Evolution of Active Galactic Nuclei
• State and dynamics of the Interstellar Medium
• Millimeter/radio interferometry

Dr. Schinnerer received her Ph.D. in Astronomy from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich in 1999. Prior to her current position, she held research appointments at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and CalTech's Owens Valley Radio Observatory.

Her work has contributed to numerous astronomical discoveries with press releases covering galaxy formation, star formation across the universe, and interstellar medium dynamics. As a Research Group Leader at one of the world's premier astronomical institutions, she directs significant research efforts in extragalactic astronomy.
