Eva Palten

Eva Palten serves as Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the Institute for Civil Law at the University of Vienna's Faculty of Law since 1995. Her office is located at Schottenbastei 10-16 (Juridicum), 1010 Vienna, where she maintains regular consultation hours for students.

Specializing in Civil Law and Contract Insurance Law, Professor Palten has developed innovative teaching methodologies focused on legal literacy and practical application. Her research examines how legal concepts can be effectively communicated through rhetorical and didactic frameworks, particularly in educational settings.

Her publications demonstrate consistent contribution to legal education methodology, with particular emphasis on exam preparation techniques and learning strategies for law students. The third edition of her book The Learning and Exam Manager represents her most significant scholarly contribution to date.

Professor Palten actively supervises student workshops through the Legal Literacy Project, where teams develop and present legal education modules to school classes. She maintains strict policies regarding academic integrity, particularly concerning AI usage in coursework and examinations.

She teaches multiple courses including Private Law, General Contract Law, Legal Literacy, and specialized courses on contract insurance law, demonstrating her comprehensive expertise across civil law domains.
