Eva Nyutu

Eva Nyutu is an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Detroit Mercy, affiliated with the College of Engineering & Science. She holds a Ph.D. in Science Education (Biological Sciences) from Western Michigan University, an M.S. in Plant Biology from North Carolina State University, and additional degrees from Western Kentucky University and the University of Nairobi.

Her research focuses on evidence-based teaching practices, assessment tools in STEM education, and Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs). She also investigates human impacts on aquatic ecosystems. Dr. Nyutu teaches General Biology Lab/Lecture and Biology and Social Issues courses.
