Prof. Dr. Eva Hevia is a leading figure in organometallic and inorganic chemistry, currently serving as a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Bern since 2019 and as Deputy Director of the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences since 2024. Previously, she was a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde (2013–2019) and a Royal Society University Research Fellow (2006–2014).

Her research focuses on main group metal chemistry with applications in sustainable synthesis, cooperative effects, and bond activation. Recent work includes s-block metal catalysts, hydrogen isotope exchange, and green solvents. She has published extensively in top journals like Angewandte Chemie, Nature Synthesis, and JACS.
