Eva Fuhrmann

Dr. Eva Fuhrmann is a Researcher at the University of Cologne, affiliated with the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology since 2021. She previously worked at the Institute of South and Southeast Asian Studies (2018–2021) and as a Project Coordinator at Engagement Global gGmbH (2015–2018). Her Ph.D. in Southeast Asia Studies (2016, University of Bonn) underpins her expertise.

Research Interests:

• Human-nature relations and environmental perception in Southeast Asia
• Gender dynamics in labor and urbanization
• Vocational learning as infrastructure in Vietnamese contexts

Recent Publications address themes like female fighters in Vietnam, urban sustainability, and vocational systems. Her work bridges socioeconomics and environmental anthropology, focusing on Vietnam and Laos.

Teaching: Eva Fuhrmann contributes to Subject-Specific Student Advisory and has been involved in the Summer School Hanoi 2023. Her academic engagement spans lectureships and research collaborations.
