Eva Beneke is an Associate Professor of Guitar at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, appointed in 2018. A German classical guitarist, she holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California (USC) and studied at the Franz Liszt Hochschule in Weimar, Germany. Her expertise spans Classical Guitar, Chamber Music, and Music Education.

Her research focuses on Symbolism and Numerology in J.S. Bach's Music, Repertoire for Voice and Guitar, and Performance Practice. She has received support through the NordART research and development program for her 2020–2021 work on Bach's instrumental music. In 2023, she participates in the project Challenging musical canons: Evoking diversity in practice and theory (NordART, CERM).
She has performed with the German Symphony Orchestra under Kent Nagano, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and internationally at festivals in Peru, Mexico, Germany, Lithuania, the USA, China, and Thailand. Her NAXOS recording of Fernando Sor's Complete Works for Voice and Guitar with mezzo-soprano Nerea Berraondo was released in 2017.
- Scientific Awards: Prizes at international guitar competitions in The Netherlands, Italy, and the USA.
Beneke has contributed to expanding the guitar repertoire through her transcriptions of Bach's music and original compositions. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, blending historical performance practices with symbolic and rhetorical analysis in Baroque music.
