Eugenia Roussou is an Assistant Professor of Social Anthropology at the Department of Social Anthropology and History, University of the Aegean (since May 2025). She holds a PhD from University College London (UCL, 2010), a Master's from Goldsmiths College (2004), and a BA from the University of Thessaly (2003). Her research focuses on the anthropology of religion, New Age spirituality, ritual practices, and religious pluralism in Greece and Portugal. She has held postdoctoral and principal investigator roles at Portugal’s Universidade Nova de Lisboa and CRIA, leading projects like ReSpell (FCT-funded) on religion, spirituality, and wellbeing in Southern Europe. She co-edits journals such as Religion and Society and participates in networks like the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA).
