Eugene Martin

Eugene Martin is a Professor of Film Production and Director of the MFA Program at the University of North Texas. A multidisciplinary filmmaker, he creates hybrid narrative/documentary works exploring at-risk youth, immigration narratives, and urban America through over 100 international film festival screenings and major distribution platforms including Netflix and Amazon.

His academic credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Film from Temple University and membership in the Directors Guild of America since 2013. Current research involves a Routledge Press monograph on directing non-actors for screen media.

As an educator, he teaches Graduate Advanced Documentary Production, Cinematic Verite, and Scene Analysis while directing the university's MFA program. His work has received funding from NEA, ITVS, and Pew Charitable Trusts.
