Ester Alba Pagan

Ester Alba Pagan is a Full Professor at the University of Valencia, affiliated with the Faculty of Geography and History and the Department of Art History. She holds a degree and doctorate in Art History from the University of Valencia, where she received both the Extraordinary Bachelor's and Doctorate Awards. Her research focuses on museology, museography, and art criticism, particularly contemporary art and cultural heritage through visual studies and gender perspectives.

She has directed research projects on the visibility of art by women and is part of a national interuniversity team rescuing works by Spanish women artists (1804-1939). In cultural heritage, she leads European projects. She teaches courses on cultural heritage and museography at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, co-directing the Master's in Analysis and Diagnosis of Works of Art and the PERMEA Master's (Experimental Program for Mediation and Education through Art).

Administratively, she has served as Vice Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Geography and History, Director of the University Culture Service and Valencian Design Archive, and currently sits on the Management Committee of COST EuroWeb (EU) and the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia and Design Foundation. She has also participated in the Governing Council of IVAM and the Committee of Experts for National Heritage Museum Facilities.
