Esraa F. Shosha is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Medicine, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Her research focuses on retinal ischemia in conditions like diabetic retinopathy and retinopathy of prematurity, using in vivo (ischemia-reperfusion injury, diabetes models, oxygen-induced retinopathy) and in vitro (oxygen-glucose deprivation) systems to study vascular responses and metabolic changes. Key techniques include Seahorse analysis of retinal metabolism and mitochondrial/angiogenesis assays.
Collaborations include Dr. Nancy Rusch and Dr. Abdelrahman Fouda at UAMS. Outside academia, she enjoys reading, cooking, home décor, and spending time with her two daughters.
