Erin Kimmerle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida's College of Arts and Sciences. She specializes in forensic anthropology and biological anthropology, with research applications in facial recognition, human identification, demography, and trauma analysis.

Her work bridges skeletal biology with human rights enforcement through transitional justice initiatives, including international criminal trials for genocide and war crimes. She oversees the Florida Institute of Forensic Anthropology & Applied Science and leads crime scene investigations for violent crimes.
Current research focuses on population variation in aging, growth, and development, with applications to forensic methodologies and legal strategies. She teaches courses in biological anthropology, human osteology, forensic science, and transitional justice.
