Erin Kelso is a Researcher at the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology, part of the Department of Politics and Social Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin. She is actively involved in the Volkswagen Freigeist project titled "The Populism of the Precarious: Marginalization, Mobilization, and Mediatization of South Asia's Religious Minorities".
Her research focuses on the role of Christian and Hindu women in Pakistan's political movements, particularly examining their mobilization and representation in the context of social media. Erin's academic background includes an MA in South Asian Studies from the University of Heidelberg (2020), with a minor in Communication, Literature & Media in Modern South Asian Languages.
Her broader research interests span religious minorities, anthropology of values, and the Muslim diaspora in Europe. She is currently conducting fieldwork to deepen understanding of these dynamics.
