Erin Devlin is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and American Studies at the University of Mary Washington (UMW). Her research focuses on African-American history, segregation policies, oral history, and LGBTQ history, with a particular emphasis on uncovering systemic inequities in public spaces and institutions.
- Research Highlights: Devlin’s work on segregation in Virginia’s National Parks (1916–1965) has been featured in National Parks Traveler, shedding light on the National Park Service’s historical exclusion of Black communities and advocating for transparency and new historic landmarks. She is also involved in the UMW Libraries' LGBTQ Alumni Oral History Project, which documents the experiences of LGBTQ alumni.
