Erik Heimann

Dr. Erik Heimann serves as Study Program Coordinator and Lecturer at the Chair of Business Informatics and Integrated Information Systems within the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He teaches courses including Enterprise Transformation, Retail Enterprise Systems, and Management of Large Enterprise Systems while coordinating academic programs.

His research spans Enterprise Systems implementation, Big Data/AI applications in retail, transformation management during IT system adoption, and socio-technical phenomena in New Work environments. He actively contributes to the Retail Artificial Intelligence Lab (retAIL) and SAP Innovation Lab, focusing on practical retail analytics like price management and shopping basket analysis.

Dr. Heimann supervises student theses through structured project offerings and supports the IIS-Talents initiative connecting students with industry challenges. His work emphasizes bridging academic research with commercial applications in enterprise systems and retail technology.
