Erica Spatz

Erica Spatz, MD, MHS, is an Associate Professor of Cardiology and Chronic Disease Epidemiology at Yale School of Medicine. She serves as Director of the Preventive Cardiovascular Health Program and leads remote patient monitoring initiatives at Yale, while maintaining an active role at Yale School of Public Health and Women's Health Research at Yale. Her clinical practice focuses on cardiovascular medicine at Yale Medicine.

As a clinical investigator at the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE), Dr. Spatz specializes in precision medicine for cardiovascular prevention, emphasizing personalized risk assessment through biological, genetic, and lifestyle factors. Her research examines health disparities in cardiac care, digital health interventions, and quality measurement frameworks, particularly for populations facing socioeconomic barriers.

She co-founded Project Access-New Haven, a network providing donated specialty care to underserved communities. Current research explores cardiometabolic syndrome patterns, post-COVID cardiovascular impacts, and innovative prevention strategies through the Yale Hearts Moms program (Lipkind Lab). Her 2025 publications address Long COVID definitions, lipid-lowering therapy trends, and healthcare equity metrics.

Dr. Spatz's work with Yale's Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) spans 18 years, involving collaborations with multidisciplinary teams on projects like Tele-HF and VIRGO. She actively promotes patient-centered decision-making and policy reforms to make healthy choices more accessible for populations.
