Dr. Erica Odell is a Research Fellow at RMIT University's School of Science, affiliated with the Aquatic Environmental Stress (AQUEST) Research Group and Aquatic Pollution Prevention Partnership (A3P). Her work focuses on environmental policy, pollution management, and ecological impacts of wastewater and contaminants. She holds a PhD from Griffith University (2018) and has extensive experience in applied research, project management, and international environmental consulting.
Education: PhD in 2018 from Griffith University, specializing in rainforest invertebrate dynamics across Australia, Borneo, and China. Prior to RMIT, she contributed to environmental approvals and sustainable project development for global clients.
Research Interests: Ecology, climate change adaptation, pollution mitigation, environmental assessment, and evolutionary biology. Her current projects aim to inform policy through studies on wastewater impacts, sediment contamination, and ecological restoration.
Advising & Grants: Registered RMIT supervisor, actively mentoring students. Collaborates with government and industry partners (e.g., Melbourne Water) on funded environmental monitoring programs. Projects include sediment quality assessments and pollution mitigation strategies.
Labs/Teams: Leads research in AQUEST and A3P, focusing on aquatic environmental stressors and pollution prevention. Outputs directly influence policy and industry practices.
