Erica L. Eliason

Erica L. Eliason, PhD, MPH (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor at the Rutgers Center for State Health Policy and the Department of Urban-Global Public Health within the Rutgers School of Public Health. Her research focuses on health policy impacts on maternal, child, and reproductive health equity, particularly analyzing Medicaid and CHIP policies.

Education:

• PhD in Public Health from Columbia University
• MPH in Public Health from Columbia University

Research Highlights: Dr. Eliason leads a NIH-funded K99/R00 study examining postpartum Medicaid coverage during the Public Health Emergency and its effects on maternal/infant care equity. She also co-leads a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation project analyzing multi-state Medicaid claims data related to pandemic-era continuous coverage policies. Her work bridges policy analysis with health equity, emphasizing marginalized populations.

Grants & Service: Holds NIH/NICHD and RWJF funding. Engages in public service through the Gowanus Dredgers and EPA Gowanus Canal Superfund Community Advisory Group, advocating for environmental health initiatives.
