Dr. Erica Ittner is an Associate Professor of Optometry and Chief of Urgent Eye Care Services at Illinois College of Optometry. She teaches primary care optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease management to 3rd and 4th-year students, and instructs refraction courses for 1st-year students. An ICO alumna, she completed her OD (2009) and residency in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease (2010) at ICO, following her BS from University of Illinois at Chicago.
Her clinical practice focuses on ocular disease and glaucoma management. She maintains a dual role at Hawthorn Woods Family Eye Care alongside her academic position.
Research publications concentrate on neuro-ophthalmic conditions, including herpetic retinopathies, medication-induced optic neuropathies, and intracranial pathology presentations.
