About
Erica Golemis, PhD, is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Cancer and Cellular Biology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University. She serves as Senior Associate Dean of Research and Director of the High Throughput Screening Facility at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Her research focuses on cancer signaling networks, translational oncology, and drug resistance mechanisms, particularly in head and neck, lung, and colorectal cancers. Her work integrates bioinformatics, proteomics, and chemical biology to identify therapeutic targets and biomarkers.
Dr. Golemis earned her PhD in Biology from MIT, with postdoctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She pioneered the yeast two-hybrid system for protein-protein interaction studies and has authored foundational textbooks on protein interactions.
Her honors include AAAS Fellowship (2019), the William Wikoff Smith Endowed Chair (2019), and awards from Temple University and the American Cancer Society. Her lab explores cilia dysfunction in cancer and polycystic kidney disease, emphasizing cilia-targeted therapies and DNA damage response mechanisms.
