Erica Goldstein is an Assistant Professor of Integrative Health Sciences at Stetson University. She holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Central Florida, an MS in Exercise Science & Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University, a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of North Florida, and a BA in History from Elon University. Her research focuses on iron deficiency in female athletes, recovery and performance in Masters Class Athletes, and sports nutrition knowledge. She is a Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Her work bridges nutrition science with practical applications for sports and medical professionals.
Goldstein’s research emphasizes the intersection of exercise, nutrition, and health across the lifespan. She explores topics such as carbohydrate-protein supplementation for endurance recovery, antioxidant enzyme adaptations to exercise, and the impact of energy drinks on post-exercise physiology. Her publications span journals like Antioxidants, Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, and Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.
Her teaching includes courses on Health and Wellness, Exercise Physiology, and Sports Nutrition, aiming to equip students with evidence-based practices.
