Eric Yarnell

Eric Yarnell is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University. He transitioned to adjunct teaching to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, including founding Heron Botanicals and Red Rot Pharmaceuticals. Previously, he served as a full professor at Bastyr and chaired Botanical Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Yarnell holds dual part-time clinical practices in Washington and California.

• Education: Graduated from Bastyr University in 1996.

His research focuses on herbal treatments for urological and kidney diseases, emphasizing whole-herb synergy. He advocates flipped classrooms for clinical training, prioritizing case reviews over traditional lectures.

Award highlights include the 2020 Borborygmous Award for contributions to naturopathic medicine and multiple Faculty of the Year recognitions. He actively publishes in herbal pharmacology and clinical naturopathy.
