Professor Eric Verspoor is a leading expert in aquatic biodiversity science and management, with a focus on Atlantic salmon and Arctic charr. He holds a Chair in Aquatic Biodiversity Conservation and Management at the University of Highlands and Islands' Institute for Biodiversity and Freshwater Conservation. With over 40 years of experience, he previously led the Scottish Government’s fish genetics research group at the Freshwater Laboratory in Pitlochry. His work integrates ecological and population genetics with sustainable resource management and conservation.
