Eric Sirota

Eric Sirota serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Tenant Advocacy Clinic at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, joining the faculty in 2024 to lead individual and systemic advocacy for tenants and tenant associations.

His academic credentials include a BA from Brandeis University and JD from University of Illinois College of Law.

Professor Sirota's research centers on housing justice and poverty law, specializing in tenant rights, fair housing barriers, and consumer protection frameworks. His work addresses critical issues like discrimination against Housing Choice Voucher holders, criminal record-based housing exclusion, and foreclosure defense strategies through both litigation and policy advocacy.

His publications reveal a consistent focus on legal interventions for housing equity, examining how consumer protection regimes can safeguard tenants, how screening practices undermine fair housing, and technical foreclosure procedures.
