Eric Schoon

Eric Schoon is an Associate Professor of Sociology at The Ohio State University's College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of Arizona (2015). His research focuses on sociological theory, cultural sociology, political sociology, and research methodology, with particular emphasis on legitimacy, political violence, and contemporary Turkey. Schoon has authored/co-authored influential works such as Regression Inside Out (2024, Cambridge University Press) and a forthcoming book on legitimacy theory from Columbia University Press. His work has been recognized with awards from ASA sections on Comparative and Historical Sociology, Cultural Sociology, and others.
