Eric Rohr

Eric Rohr is a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) in Heidelberg, Germany, and will soon join the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (MPA) in Garching, Germany, as a postdoc fellow in the Computational Astrophysics department led by Volker Springel.

His research focuses on galaxy evolution, hydrodynamic simulations, and the cosmic baryon cycle, with specialization in the analysis of cosmological simulations like IllustrisTNG, TNG-Cluster, and FIREbox. Key projects include studying jellyfish galaxies, cool intracluster medium gas, and AGN feedback mechanisms.

Eric's publications highlight trends in gas dynamics, satellite galaxy evolution, and observational signatures of cluster environments, with a focus on X-ray and radio wavelength analysis. His work bridges cosmological simulations with upcoming observational missions like JWST, Euclid, and XRISM.

He has presented at major conferences including the Galaxy Clusters conference (STScI), Epoch of Galaxy Quenching (Cambridge), and Building Galaxies from Scratch (Vienna). Eric also actively collaborates on open-access data initiatives for the TNG-Cluster simulation project.
