Eric R. Fearon

Eric R. Fearon, M.D., Ph.D., serves as the Emanuel N. Maisel Professor of Oncology and Director of the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center. He holds professorships in Internal Medicine, Human Genetics, and Pathology at the University of Michigan. His leadership roles include Associate Director for Basic Science (1995) and Deputy Director (2005-2016) of the Cancer Center.

Research Interests:
Fearon is a pioneering figure in cancer genetics, focusing on gene defects underlying colorectal tumor development and progression to advanced stages. His work bridges molecular biology, medical genetics, and oncology, with a particular emphasis on understanding the genetic basis of cancer for translational applications.
