Eric Pentecost is a Professor of Economics at Loughborough University, where he has been since 1987 and was promoted to full professor in 2002. He previously served as Head of the Department of Economics from 2007 to 2010. He holds a BA (CNAA), MA from the University of Warwick (1978), and a PhD from the University of London (1984). His expertise spans open economy macroeconomics, currency substitution, capital flows, exchange rate policy, and financial liberalisation. He is also a Visiting Professor at Claremont Graduate University (USA, 2016–present) and has held visiting roles at institutions like Vanderbilt University, the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and the University of Antwerp.
