Eric Neuscamman

Eric Neuscamman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on developing theoretical models and algorithms for predicting electronic structures of molecules and materials, with emphasis on excited states and systems where traditional methods like density functional theory fail.

• Education: B.S. in Physical Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from UCLA (2006), Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry from Cornell University (2011)

His work addresses challenges in chemical/photochemical reaction mechanisms, molecular light harvesting, and materials with complex d/f orbital interactions. Awards include being a Miller Research Fellow and Lawrence Fellow.

Eric leads the Neuscamman Group at UC Berkeley, advancing computational methods for electronic structure prediction.
