Eric Miller

Dr. Eric Miller is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Victoria. His academic background includes a BA from the University of Toronto and a PhD from the University of Virginia.

Research interests focus on poetry, the lyric essay, and literary translation with emphasis on 18th-century German literature (Hölderlin), British Gothic fiction (Ann Radcliffe), and North American natural history. He has published three poetry collections and multiple book-length translations including works by Hölderlin, Bettina Klix, and Titia Brongersma.

His creative work appears in literary journals like *Ploughshares*, *Brick*, and *Canadian Literature*. Awards include short-listings for the ReLit Award (2006) and Hubert Evans Prize (2007). Miller contributes reviews to *The Malahat Review* and maintains interdisciplinary interests in ornithology, ekphrastic poetry, and visual art.
