Eric L. Snyder

Eric L. Snyder, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Pathology and Adjunct Associate Professor of Oncological Sciences at University of Utah Health, where he leads the Snyder Lab at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. His research focuses on lineage plasticity in cancer, particularly how transcription factors like NKX2-1, FoxA1/2, and HNF4α regulate cellular identity and therapeutic response in lung and pancreatic cancers.

His work has revealed epigenomic reprogramming mechanisms driving lineage switching, feedback loops between identity programs and oncogenic pathways (RAF/MEK, WNT), and therapeutic vulnerabilities in RAS-driven cancers. Recent studies examine hybrid identity states in lung tumors and cross-talk between cell identity and immune microenvironment.

Lab members include graduate students Henry Arnold, Headtlove Essel Dadzie, Pengshu Fang, Gabriela Fort, and Walter Orellana. Research spans pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, and liposarcoma models.
