Eric Kemmeren is a Full Professor of International Taxation and International Tax Law at the Fiscal Institute Tilburg (FIT) within Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Economics and Management. He holds positions in the Department of Tax Economics and Tilburg Law School. His research focuses on International Tax Law, European Tax Law, and Taxation policy. He has been a Deputy Justice of the Arnhem Court of Appeal (Tax Division) since 2007 and serves as an Of Counsel at EY Tax Advisers since 1992.
Key roles include co-initiating and coordinating the EUCOTAX Network and Wintercourse, serving on editorial boards of EC Tax Review and the EUCOTAX Series, and participating in international tax commissions. He has supervised multiple PhD students, including A.C.M. Schenk-Geers and Mart van Hulten. Recent research explores legal form neutrality, double taxation mitigation, and EU State Aid cases.
Publications include edited volumes on EU taxation and articles analyzing court decisions on tax treaties and State Aid. He actively contributes to academic networks like the European Tax College and the Confédération Fiscale Europeénne's ECJ Task Force.
