Eric Hibit is an Instructor at The Cooper Union's School of Art. He holds a B.F.A. from Corcoran College of Art + Design and an M.F.A. from Yale University School of Art. His teaching experience includes positions at Tyler School of Art, Temple University, New York University, and Hunter College. Hibit specializes in studio art education, focusing on courses like Drawing at the Met Museum, Collage Techniques, Observational Figure Drawing, and Color Theory.
His artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues such as C24 Gallery and Tiger Strikes Asteroid in New York City, Curator's Office in Washington D.C., and Geoffrey Young Gallery in Massachusetts. His work has been reviewed in The Washington Post, The Village Voice, and Artnet.com. Hibit's art is featured in prominent private collections and he has received the Terra Foundation residency in Giverny, France.
He currently teaches courses including Collage and The City, An Artist’s History of Collage: Studio Course, and Introduction to Color Theory at Cooper Union. His practice bridges theoretical and hands-on approaches to visual arts education.
