Eric Golson is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Surrey, affiliated with the Centre for International Macroeconomic Studies and the Centre for the Study of Global Power Competition (CGPC). He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE), an MA and BA from the University of Chicago. His research focuses on Warfare Economics, Economic History, and International Trade, particularly exploring economic warfare, sanctions, and historical trade dynamics. Recent work includes analyses of Sino-US trade frictions and Portugal’s WWII economic strategies. Eric has co-authored three books on economic warfare and small state neutrality. He previously served as Deputy Head of Economics and Undergraduate Programme Director at Surrey. His teaching includes modules on introductory economics, financial accounting, and international trade.
