Eric Gauthier

Professor Gauthier's research program investigates molecular and cellular events in mammalian cell death with dual focus:

• Fundamental studies on L-glutamine-triggered intracellular survival signals, directly applicable to cancer research due to glutamine's critical role in tumor cell viability
• Applied research examining how modulating cell death pathways affects biotechnologically relevant cell lines

His laboratory specializes in apoptosis mechanisms, stress kinase pathways, and nutrient deprivation responses using hybridoma cell models.

He leads an active research team studying the regulation of late apoptotic events, with particular interest in proteins like Bcl-xL and GADD153 in cell culture systems. Their work bridges basic cell biology and therapeutic applications in oncology and bioprocessing.
