Eric Elliott

Eric Elliott serves as the Department Head and Associate Professor of Art at Colorado Mesa University, specializing in Painting and Drawing. His teaching focuses on foundational drawing, figure drawing, 2D Design, and painting. He holds an MFA from the University of Washington, a BA from UC Berkeley, and an AA from Mesa Community College.

His artistic practice explores oil paint, charcoal, and ink, emphasizing structural frameworks to investigate form, light, atmosphere, and dissolution. Key career highlights include a 2014 residency in Jerusalem, the 2009 Neddy Artist Fellowship, and inclusion in the 2009 Northwest Biennial.

Elliott has secured grants such as the 2020 Colorado OER grant and is represented by Dwell Fine Art in Virginia. His pedagogical philosophy prioritizes exposure to art history and contemporary practices to help students develop their artistic voices.
