Eric Bylander is a Professor of Procedural Law at the Faculty of Law, Uppsala University, where he has been active since 2018. He holds a Doctor of Laws (2006) and a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric (2003) from Uppsala University, along with a Bachelor of Laws (1998). He has served as course director for advanced courses in Civil Procedure and Criminal/Procedural Law, and as editor for legal journals.

Research Interests focus on procedural law, including judicial processes, legal rhetoric, evidence law, and the impact of digitalization on courts. He has contributed to European civil procedure harmonization, fairness in trials, and the use of modern courtroom technology.
Publications reflect trends in Swedish procedural law, EU enforcement mechanisms, and historical jurisprudence. Key works include analyses of computerized judicial systems, fair trial rights under constitutional law, and Nordic procedural traditions.
Doctoral Supervision includes mentoring students such as Christina Kjellson, Simon Göransson, and Victoria Bui. He has also participated in international research projects like DIGI-GUARD and EU-funded studies on insolvency proceedings.
