Eric Bernstein

Eric Bernstein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education. He holds a joint appointment as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the UConn School of Dental Medicine and serves on the Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee. His expertise spans simulations, social justice, professional development, K-12 leadership, and health professions education.

Dr. Bernstein earned an Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and a B.S. in Business Administration from UConn. His research focuses on leadership development through simulations, ethics in education and healthcare, school discipline policy, and equitable educational practices.

His recent work emphasizes leadership in turbulent environments, healthcare ethics, and inclusive education. Publications highlight innovations in simulation-based learning, interprofessional collaboration, and strategies for addressing systemic inequities in schools and healthcare.

Dr. Bernstein has contributed to collaborative initiatives like the Penn Educational Leadership Simulation (PELS) Program and advises on professional education curriculum development. His career includes K-12 teaching, administration, and leadership roles in higher education.
