Eric Aronoff is an Associate Professor in the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) at Michigan State University. He holds a PhD in English from Rutgers University and a BA in Comparative Literature from Princeton University. His research explores intersections of 19th- and 20th-century American literature with anthropology, theories of culture, race, nation, environmental studies, and science fiction. He has authored books such as Composing Cultures: Modernism, American Literary Studies, and the Problem of Culture (2013) and an upcoming Culture’s Futures: Science Fiction, Form, and the Problem of Culture (2025). He won the MSU Teacher-Scholar Award (2010-11) for teaching excellence.
