Eric A Bergshoeff

Prof. Eric A Bergshoeff is an Honorary Professor at the University of Groningen, holding the Willem de Sitter Chair in Theoretical Physics within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He is affiliated with the Cosmic Frontier — Van Swinderen Institute for Particle Physics and Gravity and the Centre for Theoretical Physics. His research focuses on quantum gravity, non-relativistic string theory, and their applications to phenomena like black holes and the fractional quantum Hall effect.

His academic career includes an Academy Professorship (2012) and knighthood in the Order of The Netherlands (2018).
