He completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Miami Ear Institute (2019–2020). His academic journey includes multiple degrees: a Master’s (2004) and PhD (2009) in Physiology from Trakya University, followed by a second Master’s in Audiology from Istanbul University (2018).
Research Interests: Focus on auditory neuroscience, ototoxicity mechanisms, cochlear physiology, and epigenetic regulation in hearing disorders. Notable projects include investigating SMAD4 gene methylation as a biomarker for auditory neuropathy and developing novel cochlear implant electrode coding methods.
Publications: Over 30 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work exploring platelet-rich fibrin in tympanic membrane healing, memantine’s role in cisplatin ototoxicity, and reorganization of cochlear tonotopy. His research bridges experimental animal studies and clinical applications, emphasizing translational medicine.
Awards: Recognitions include the Cholesteatoma Prize (2008) for frequency discrimination studies and the FEPS Neurophysiology Award (2011). His work on intratympanic steroid effects on cisplatin toxicity was also highly cited.
Grants & Projects: Led projects on epigenetic markers in neurodegenerative diseases, cochlear implant innovation, and developing local auditory hardware systems. Collaborates internationally on biomarker discovery and auditory device advancements.
