Erbil Abaci

Erbil Abaci is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University in the Department of Dermatology and Department of Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on reconstructing the integumentary system in vitro to advance skin regeneration and disease modeling.

• Education: Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Johns Hopkins University
• Postdoctoral Training: NIH Microphysiological Systems consortium (tissue engineering of blood-brain barrier and skin)

Research Interests: Dr. Abaci develops microfluidic iPSC-derived organoids and 3D-bioprinted skin models to study regenerative medicine, stem cell applications, and endothelial biology in skin diseases.

Grants: Supported by the Ines Mandl Foundation, NIH, NSF, and DoD.

Editorial Roles: Editorial Board Member of Biomicrofluidics and Associate Editor of Molecular and Cellular Dermatology.
